My first real taste of couponing was in 1994. We had very little money and a friend of mine would give me stacks that were 12 – 18 inches tall of coupons that she had gone through. The left overs, but I was so glad for them.
We lived in Phoenix and all the stores were doing triple and sometimes quadruple coupons. I would clip, study ads, plan and prepare. I would spend hours in the stores calculating everything. For me it was a huge game, but that game meant there would be food in the house. One of the first trips, I had less than $5 and I shopped at all four store brands and brought home about $93 in groceries. I was hooked.
The games have changed over the years, but the savings are still there. In fact, at times I think they are even better than they were back then. My dream is to spread that knowledge to you.
The first concept in the big picture is what I like to call Stacking and Racking. It’s a three step system that will help you save tons of cash.
