Today is a crazy day. The calendar announces that it is both National Sunglasses Day & National Orange Blossom Day. My head can barely comprehend either of those ideas. First, an entire day devoted to sunshades? Are they serious? Has to be a marketing strategy; however, I am up for it.
I am a complete sucker for chick flicks in which they lay around, ON PURPOSE, and sip drinks on a beautiful lawn chair in the back yard. I personally have NEVER had time for this kind of activity. So as soon as I get the first load of laundry in the washer, I’m totally going to try it. Are you game?
Are there even any orange trees with blossoms on them at this time of the year? No worries, I have an amazing recipe for Orange Julius that we can sip from while we lay about and do…. NOTHING! But before we get to that, we must talk about an orange blossom special. I think every southern person knows what it is. It is a song that every fiddle player learns to play, or so I am told. There’s no one better in the world to hear it from than Charlie Daniels.
So grab your sunshades, recline your lawn chair and pick out your favorite book.
Orange Julius (Amy style)
I will be honest. I have struggled with these as I have not liked the texture of the granulated sugar in them. They always come out grainy and I just don’t like that. So I pondered and pondered. I knew the answer was in using sweet condensed milk and before I reinvented the wheel I found the perfect recipe at the domestic rebel. I tried them and oh my goodness they are totally amazing. I could NOT stop drinking it. I will have to do some serious workouts this week to compensate for the sugar. YUM!
Here’s what mine looked like.
And Now the RECIPE
And this is hers.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a good reminder that we are all different, but it’s those same differences that drive us crazy about each other, that make us equally unique. Never stop being yourself. You are exactly who God made you to be. This one brought a smile to my face. Tilly and I are very much alike and I liked that a LOT.

This is another super fun book. I loved the punniness (sp) of the book. When I taught 4 year olds like forever ago, I used to do the very same thing and we all would laugh and laugh. I like Mrs. Millie alot. Maybe we went to school together. 😀
