DRAWING IS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT!
There’s something just so pleasurable about collections.
Rocks, books, seashells, nail polish, stickers, photos.
Whatever it is that tickles your fancy, it’s fun to keep them all together. For me, it wasn’t just about what I was collecting, it was about the container I kept them in.
My dad gave me an old King Edward cigar box when I was young. I think everyone had one of these when I was growing up. They were the Rubbermaid of that time as well as frugal, since they were in abundance. It was my very special place where I kept my special things.
When A. Pumpkin was little she had a fascination with round things. Specifically balls, marbles and the like. She started her own collection below.
She had the unique ability to find a new, different, sparkly, strangely shaped, unique ball anywhere we went. You can see they are quite different. Each new orb would undergo hours of testing to prove it’s worthiness into the box. These were tangible expressions of her colorfully, creative mind and I enjoyed watching every minute of these quality control exercises. How does one effectively QC a ball? You sit and bounce them for hours. I love it!
As much fun as it is to scavenge the city for these unique spheres, there is something extraordinarily fun about making your own and coloring it yourself. So let’s do it!
I can’t wait to see what you come up with. We will post ours on the Facebook page. Wonder if we will have the similar colors. 😀
