Happy Independence Day!
Today is a light and fun day, with something yummy for your tummy. I have made these a few times and A. Pumpkin was delighted when she found out that we were doing them today. You can alter or tweak these to suit your families needs. Feel free to add M & M’s or butterscotch. We love peanut butter and chocolate, but this time I added a little salt to the top to really give them that sweet and salty taste. Take liberties and be free to explore with your taste buds!
Activity: Rice Krispie Wonderfuls!
Downloads from God – Journal Entry #4 – What I Like About Me…
Today’s download is super fun. As the Lord was sharing with me, my cat came over laid next to me and began purring. What is that about cats that they LOVE their chins to be scratched. Chin scratching is a definite on/off button for our cat’s purring mechanism and I will often find ways to continue to keep him happy. Cats were designed to purr. It’s what makes them unique and special. It was a little later when the Lord reminded me that we are “fearfully and wonderful made.” Psalms 139:14.
For this exercise, you are going to find something that is very unique to how you were created and enjoy it. Write about what you love about the unique ability you have that makes you distinctly you. This has nothing to do with your multi tasking abilities as a mom, or how many loads of laundry you can do in a day. Something that is all about you.
For me, I’m extremely administrative, but that is not really the design we are looking for. The thing that makes me me has always been an ability to see things differently. It’s that perspective that God will use to help others. Sometimes they need a word of encouragement, someone to believe in them or just to see their situation through a different light. When I was younger that always bothered me, but as I began to see that as unique, I really liked it, and I liked me. I often think of that line near the end of Pinkalicious, “…I was me and I was beautiful. ”
So take time today, think about what it is that makes you incredibly unique, and celebrate it, enjoy it and write about it. This is not pride, but rather a time to reflect on how special you were made. It’s time to give thanks to the One that made you so incredibly awesome and like the funness of you.
