Welcome to August!!!!
In today’s issue:
- Elsa Frozen Ice Powers
- A. Pumpkin Review is BACK!
Today’s activity is another oldie, but goodie. Supercooling Ice. This one is by far the easiest, but takes much longer. You will need an unopened bottle of water. Place it in the freezer for exactly 2 hours and 45 minutes. Pull it out of the freezer and smack it hard on the side and it will instantly freeze. You can try different bottles of water. I like the ones with harder plastic.
You can also do this with sodas. I think it’s the same time for them. You will want to open the top to let the carbon dioxide out. Don’t try to smack them. The gas needs somewhere to go.
Once you have cooled it, the other neat thing you can do is, using a catalyst like an ice cube, you can use the supercooled water to make an ice formation. Just place an ice cube in a bowl and start to pour the supercooled water over it. The water will instantly freeze into ice. Watch this video to see how to do it. Seriously, the video below is so cute.
A. Pumpkin Recommends is back!
Ripley’s RBI #3 Running Wild
Remember these books? I reviewed the first two books in this series. And here is another one. Imagine hearing a story of a wolf boy living in the woods. With a local village girl saying he’s her long lost brother. Is it true? Is there a wolf boy living in the jungle in the Hengduan mountains? Find out in this exciting book. Here are my thoughts. I thought this book was interesting. I mean think about it. Avoiding being seen by a jungle animal in the forest. Gripping.
