In today’s issue:
- Flubber
- Scarecrows
This is probably the activity I have waited for the most. I can remember when I first saw the movie and I wanted to MAKE flubber. Of course I had no clue how. So I am super duper excited about this one.
Here are the directions, or you can head on over to Live Craft Eat.
what you need:
3/4 cup cold water
1 cup Elmer’s glue
liquid food coloring
1/2 cup hot water
1 teaspoon borax
directions:
step 1: in bowl 1 – mix together the cold water, glue, and food coloring. set aside.
step 2: in bowl 2 – mix together the hot water and borax, until the borax is completely dissolved.
step 3: slowly add glue mixture to borax mixture. mix well. pour off excess water.
Flubber the MOVIE
I don’t really promote watching movies during the summer. There’s just too much to do outside and so much to enjoy that I like to save movies for the middle of the cold winter; however, the days are getting hot. Well not getting. Here in NM lava is starting to feel cooler than the outdoor temperatures. So maybe this once, we can add a movie to the activity.
I do like to do things together, so watching flubber, after MAKING flubber, well… that’s pretty cool. Right?
Downloads from God – Journal Entry #22 – Scarecrows
I often wonder each day what the Lord would want to say to all of you out there. I hope that you are blessed as you journal. Each night I am eager to hear what He would want to talk about as we focus on a grateful heart. Each time I’m surprised and most of the time I get a good giggle. They are never subjects that I would pick, but He always knows how to make a point.
Tonight is all about grass. As I have mentioned, possibly even whined, that we are in a drought AND being overtaken by rabbits. Grass is becoming more and more difficult to grow and to keep. I have spent several days working some soil that has become hard as a rock, preparing it to receive new seed. I finished prepping this morning, laid the seed, began the watering process and watched as clouds were rolling in to finish the process.
Feeling very fulfilled at a job well done, I returned later in the afternoon to check on the watering process only to find a herd of birds enjoying the seed.
After all the work that was poured in to the ground, then in seconds it was gone.
Once your heart is tender, and open it is ready to receive seed which is the Word of God. That is where you are right this very second. Once the seed is laid, the birds will come and you must be prepared to scare them away. Scarecrows are not very effective in a field, but the techniques for guarding the heart are.
FAITH, HOPE and LOVE.
All three are excellent in guarding a newly planted heart field. As you journal, which is the easiest? and which is the hardest.
Why?
Ask the Lord to reveal how to increase these to their full potential in your life.
Enjoy,
